OFFICIAL: Benzema Beats Mane, Salah, & Lewandowski To Win 2022 Ballon d'Or Award

The France Football has crowned Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema as the winner of the Ballon d'Or 2022. The French striker beats off the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Kylian Mbappe, Sadio Mane and others to the award.

Benzema was one of the stand out players in Real Madrid squad last season as he led them to UEFA Champions League, Spanish La Liga, UEFA Super Cup triumphs.

The former Lyon striker also led his nation, France to the UEFA Nations League triumph to cap of a successful calendar according to France football. The Real Madrid forward's goal in the final against Spain won the goal of the tournament.

Benzema is the first Real Madrid player to win the coveted football award since Luka Modric last won it in 2018.

Other players who won awards tonight were Barcelona midfielder Pablo Gavira winning the Kopa Trophy, Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois winning the Yashin trophy, Sadio Mane winning the Socrates award, with Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski winning the best goalscorer.
